Special Notice ...... Phone Scam Alert!!!!

From the Lindsay Police Department. We are receiving calls from citizens stating that someone has cloned the City Office number 405-756-2019. They are warning the citizen that they will be removing their meter unless they pay them by getting a prepaid card and giving them the information from the card. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!! DO NOT GET A CARD AND DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY CARD INFORMATION.

If the City Office needs payment from you, they will request that you come down in person to make arrangements.

If anyone calls you acting as the City of Lindsay, do not give them any personal information. If you have reason to be concerned always hang up and call the city office with a phone number of which you are familiar.

Basic things to know:

The City office does not demand payments over the phone.
The City does not do any kind of disconnects without mailing disconnect notices ahead of time.
The City does not do disconnects on weekends or after hours.
The City will not encourage you to use un-trackable money cards to make your payments. You can use a prepaid card but that will not be required for payment.
